Understanding The Purpose

Knowing what you DON’T want can be every bit as important as knowing what you DO want.

Before beginning a marketing plan for your business you really need to have a general goal of what you want your business to provide for you and your family. You also need to know exactly what you do not want from the business.

Sure! You can just enjoy the ride and see where it takes you.

If you have certain destinations that you have no desire to visit though, you can save time and frustration by preparing a plan.

If your primary reason for developing a successful online business is to allow you the opportunity to be home with your family, then you must make every business decision with that thought in mind.

If your primary reason for developing a successful online business is to allow you the opportunity to live a more luxurious lifestyle, then you must make every business decision with that thought in mind.

Let’s see if we can make this a little easier to understand.

As your business begins to experience success, there may come a time when suddenly you have more work coming in, than you have hours in a day. Of course you can solve this by hiring help.

This can easily lead to outgrowing the peaceful home office you had planned and you may need to move your business to a more traditional store or office setting.

Now you have a much higher overhead, and instead of having more work than you can handle, you are again focused on increasing new business coming in.

All of the sudden you are right back to working 80+ hours a week and never seeing your family.

Now, this scenario may be exactly what you are looking for. In which case you have no worries beyond becoming an expert at every part of your business and providing quality customer service.

What if you had decided to escape the rat race of the financial goal of always wanting more though?

If your whole purpose was to be able to be able to spend more time with your family, you have now failed your own hopes and dreams.

How do you prepare for all of this?

By making sure that you know exactly what you want, but also what you do NOT want.

Once you have these things set in your mind, making your business decisions is much easier. You can ask yourself, “Will this take me closer to my goal, or further away?” This allows you to make every decision according to your plan.

If your entire purpose is to be able to spend more time with your family, you will need to learn when to say no.

You simply do not accept more work than you can complete while providing the highest quality service.

You plan work time. More importantly, you also plan your off time.

I WILL DEFINITELY SEE YOU AT THE TOP!
